Orthopaedic specialist – expert in musculoskeletal conditions and injuries
The physicians at Tunturi Medical Centre, specialised in the treatment of injuries, provide expert care for all musculoskeletal conditions. Orthopaedic and trauma specialists are always available for consultation and, when necessary, assess fractures, joint injuries and overuse-related pain, and plan further treatment or surgery if required. Minor procedures are also performed at the clinic, such as joint injections (corticosteroid injections to the knee, shoulder and other joints).
- We treat all injuries and accidents with professional expertise.
- We provide comprehensive injury assessments and treatment plans at all our locations.
- We assess fractures, ligament injuries and overuse-related pain immediately on site.
- When necessary, we refer patients for CT or MRI scans and for surgical assessment.
- Joint injections and local anaesthetic injections are provided during appointments.
Other specialists
Tunturi Medical Centre brings specialist medical services closer to the fells. Our general practitioners and specialists work closely together to ensure that every patient receives the care they need promptly and with the right expertise. During the season, we also aim to offer services from other specialties.
- We offer orthopaedic specialist services during the season.
- We arrange consultations with an occupational health physician and a specialist in general medicine when needed.
- Specialists are available for consultation at all our locations – including remotely.
Medical certificates and statements
Our specialists prepare all necessary certificates and statements immediately during the consultation. These may include insurance statements following an accident, medical certificates for driving or fitness to fly, sick leave certificates, and competition certificates for athletes.
- We issue insurance, work capacity, and travel certificates in both Finnish and English.
- We issue competition withdrawal and participation certificates for athletes.
- We also provide driving licence medical examinations during the season.
- We can send statements directly to the insurance company or employer when needed.
Pain management and instructions
Our specialists ensure that you receive appropriate pain relief and detailed instructions for recovery. We provide oral, inhaled, and injectable pain medications, and give clear guidance on living with a cast, brace, or bandage.
