Every Tunturi Medical Center clinic is equipped with its own rapid laboratory, where the most important examinations can be performed immediately during the doctor’s appointment. Results are available in a few minutes, so diagnosis and treatment can begin right away – without the need for a separate laboratory visit.

Rapid laboratory test selection

Our rapid laboratory selection covers the most common inflammation and infection markers, a complete blood count and rapid blood glucose, as well as fast tests for assessing cardiac and vascular symptoms. The tests help distinguish between viral and bacterial infections, assess the body’s inflammation level, and support the doctor’s treatment decisions right at the appointment.

• CRP (inflammation marker) – indicates the body’s inflammation level.
• CBC (Complete Blood Count) – reveals potential infections and signs of anemia.
• Strep A – for rapid diagnosis of streptococcal throat infection.
• Rapid blood glucose – assesses sugar balance quickly.
• Influenza and COVID-19 rapid tests – assist in diagnosing infectious diseases.
• Urinalysis – detects infections and other abnormalities.
• D-dimer (FIDD) – for identifying venous thrombosis and pulmonary embolism.
• Troponin I (TnI, cardiac marker) – for diagnosing myocardial infarction or oxygen deficiency in the heart muscle.

Extended laboratory tests: blood tests and other samples

In addition to the rapid laboratory, we also carry out standard laboratory tests at our clinics. Samples can be taken during a doctor’s or nurse’s appointment, so there is no need for a separate laboratory appointment or a visit to another address. The selection covers a wide range of blood, urine and other sample analyses – for example a complete blood count, liver, kidney and thyroid values, cholesterol and glucose levels, and inflammation and infection tests.

The tests required are always assessed individually according to your symptoms and the need for treatment, and the doctor or nurse issues the referral during the appointment. Some tests are analysed immediately in our own rapid laboratory, while other samples are sent to our partner laboratory for analysis. Once the results are ready, the doctor reviews them and we will contact you – and if needed, we agree on follow-up care or a check-up appointment. This way you can also get more extensive blood tests done during the same visit, without an extra trip away from the fells.

Interpretation of results and follow-up

The doctor interprets the rapid test results immediately and provides a diagnosis and treatment recommendations based on them. If the results indicate a more serious inflammation or infection, treatment is started immediately on-site. If necessary, we arrange further examinations, such as X-rays, ultrasound scans or more extensive laboratory samples.

Sampling and test safety

All samples are taken hygienically and safely by trained nurses. We use modern equipment that ensures reliable results even with small sample amounts. Rapid test samples do not need to be sent to a separate laboratory; everything is handled during the visit.
