Casting and splinting on-site
At Tunturi Medical Center, casting and splinting are performed immediately upon injury assessment. We use modern, lightweight, and fast-curing casting materials that ensure safe and comfortable support for fractures, sprains, and other musculoskeletal injuries. Casting is always performed based on a doctor’s assessment, and we simultaneously ensure that blood circulation, sensation, and mobility remain normal.

Recovery monitoring and guidance
After casting, we ensure that healing proceeds as planned. Our doctors and nurses provide clear instructions on pain relief, movement, and daily activities while wearing a cast. If necessary, we perform follow-up checks and assess when the cast or support can be safely removed.

Bracing and orthotic solutions
Not all injuries require a cast – in many cases, we use various supports (braces) and orthoses that allow movement and faster rehabilitation. Support solutions are selected based on the extent of the injury and individual needs.
- We offer ankle, wrist, and knee supports as well as special orthoses individually.

Pain management and aftercare
We ensure that pain remains under control throughout the recovery period. We use effective painkillers and cold therapy methods to support healing.

Casting services are available at all Tunturi Medical Center locations – in Levi, Ruka, Saariselkä, and Pyhä – throughout the ski season. We use only modern materials and ensure that every cast or support is applied ergonomically and painlessly. If necessary, we also assist in arranging cast removal and follow-up care in your hometown.
